The launch of Belgotex Vinyl's new anti-bacterial treatment for selected residential ranges is set to revolutionise the flooring market as health in the home becomes increasingly important. A first in the residential market where consumers are searching for healthier, more convenient yet attractive flooring alternatives, the new anti-bacterial top coat ensures long-lasting protection from nasty bacteria commonly found on the floor and is available in the Sherwood Oak and Toledo ranges of cushioned vinyl from Belgotex Vinyl. The treatment contains fractions of silver that prevent the oxygen intake of microscopic single cell organisms. This natural element, applied as a PU lacquer over the protective wear layer, safely kills all bacteria that continually recur, despite regular cleaning, from dust, shoes, pets and food. Silver makes the floor uninhabitable to bacteria, halting their spread as well as preventing unpleasant odours.
