Announcing a World’s First from Nexus Revolutionary new carpet range – ZigZag - from Nexus is the company’s most innovative carpet to date. The world’s first “non-woven graphics velour” carpet created through an innovative production process that took the company over three years to perfect, is currently pending patent status. ZigZag is named after its herringbone pattern that is like no other. Through design the herringbone pattern creates an optical illusion of a 3D pattern making it an ideal commercial carpet tile with a difference. “Technical marketing has always lead our product development,” said Frank Moffat, chief executive officer at Belgotex Floorcoverings, “but ZigZag is probably our most challenging development undertaken yet, which is why we are currently undergoing the expense of patenting the product’s manufacturing process.” The company’s investment in equipment and constant innovation keeps them abreast of the latest international developments, offering higher quality products as well as more diverse product ranges at various price points. Exclusive manufacturing processes such as those used to produce fibres such as Stainproof SDX and Stainproof Miracle Fibre as well as carpets such as Superweave are examples of these investments. From advances with single layered mono-coloured velour carpeting for medium residential applications, ZigZag is a giant leap in this innovation. “Such advances in this type of technology meant we had very little guidance or assistance, so we played around with patterns and designs, different manufacturing techniques and the samples given to us by the supplier, “says designer Marius Jansen van Vuuren. The result was ZigZag, a revolutionary new non-woven graphics velour made from Stainproof Miracle Fibre. Combining all the comforts of a velour floor covering with the hardwearing performance and graphic versatility usually found only in needlepunch ranges, ZigZag opens a whole new era of sophisticated geometric design. Architects and decorators can enjoy creative freedom using the unique look to design either formal, uniform patterns or striking geometric contrasts. ZigZag is available in ten traditional colourways in either ResinBac or NexBac and is suitable for commercial, hospitality and corporate installations.
